Operational Fee

What is our operational fee?
We charge a 13% operational fee to the customer at checkout to cover store operational costs. This allows our vendors to keep 100% of their sales with no hidden fees. Any applicable sales taxes are included in the sticker price of the product. Makers does not charge sales tax at checkout.

Why is it charged?
The fee offsets expenses like credit card transaction fees, vendor payout fees, internet, electricity, and POS system costs. Without it, we couldn’t offer vendors their full sales amount—for example, by charging the operational fee, a $5 sale means a vendor would receive a full $5 on their payout.

Our operational fee helps cover vendor costs that they would otherwise have to absorb, so your purchase, including our operational fee, helps support local businesses even more.
